Indoor Cycling Studio Review: B/Spoke (Cape House)
📍 Indoor cycling studio in Cape Cod, MA
Visited: 7/30/22 & 8/1/22
Went on another quick weekend getaway to Cape Cod (fun fact: where Tom and I got engaged in 2020 💍)! First order of business was finding a cycling studio within a reasonable driving distance. The Cape House location for B/Spoke studio in Mashpee was ~30 minutes from where we were staying, so we booked a couple of classes and planned to sweat! By the time we figured out what days/times would work, some classes were already waitlisted. We knew it was going to be a popular cycling spot.
Music
When the first class we were in opened up with Kanye I knew Tom was going to be sold 😂. A good mix of modern hip-hop/rap, EDM and pop. I would have liked to see some more rock, but that may have just been the classes/instructors we had picked.

Choreography
Choreography was right up my alley: attainable with practice but challenging enough to keep it fun. The instructors did an exceptional job of matching the movements to the beat in a way that just made sense. The layering of the movements also made it easy to take modifications, so it was inclusive of all fitness levels.

Class LEngth & Difficulty
Classes were a traditional ~45 minutes and let me tell you not a single minute was wasted 🥵. I got the burn of a 60 minute workout in 45, but the killer lights, playlists and movements make you forget you’re working out (and are not at a nightclub).
Modifications allow everyone to get the workout they want (you get out what you put in, right?). I tend to go hard AF (re: all gas no brakes!!!) but if you wanted to take it easier, the option is there.

Atmosphere
NGL — the vibe was pretty chaotic. When we arrived the lobby was packed with attendees waiting for the next cycling class as well as a strength class down the hall. There were no benches to change our shoes, the cubbies were tough to access and there were vendors (albeit with super cute stuff) on Saturday that also had crowds. Once one class ended, it was a swarm of people shuffling in between and there was minimal time to help new riders set up their bikes (luckily Tom and I knew how to set up ours). The bikes were also very close together.
Once the lights were dimmed and the music fired up, it was easy to settle in and get to work. The lights really helped make it a fun, vibey experience and the instructors had awesome personalities that really shone through while they taught.
Sunday was a little less busy, so we were able to take a pic in the photo op and browse the merch section a little more. I also appreciated the provided towels, and that shoe rentals are free for your first class!
